I took pictures of the installation process and have included a few below for your review:
The first step was to have the opening of the metal building resized so the garage door would fit.
Garage Doors Normally come in even sizes. I had an 18 foot wide opening and needed to allow a minimum of 5 inches on each side for the railing hardware. This made it necessary to order a 17 foot door from the Amarr factory.
Once the Metal Building Opening was resized to fit the garage door and the garage door was delivered to the installers warehouse the installer came out to put it in.
I was surprised how heavy the door panels were. I ordered an industrial door which is heavier gauge than the normal duty door.
After the installers unloaded their truck they put up the railings on either side of the opening of the metal building.
They left the top loose until all the door panels were installed and then adjusted the panels to ride in the tracks properly.
The installers assembled each section (or panel) of the garage door directly behind the opening and then lifted them into the tracks one by one.
This is a picture of the installers placing the first assembled panel into the tracks.
This is a picture of the installers placing the second to last panel in the tracks.
After all the panels were in the tracks the installers installed the inner hinges on each panel thus joining the entire garage door making it one unit.
After the hinges and hardware was all installed the tensioning spring assembly was installed and the spring tension adjusted. Once this was done the garage door was complete.
